Special salt mix for reducing the Ca value
Unwanted high Ca values often occur in marine aquariums as a result of incorrect dosing of water additives or an incorrectly adjusted calcium reactor. This can lead to stagnation of coral growth and even death of the coral tissue. The optimal Ca value in a marine aquarium is 380 – 420mg / litre
CoralMarine Ca Zero contains many trace elements and micronutrients essential for corals, invertebrates and fish, but NO Calcium.
CoralMarine Ca Zero is made from premium pharmaceutical grade chemicals. When dissolved in osmosis water, CoralMarine Ca Zero contains 0° mg/l calcium and up to 1270 mg/l magnesium and about 8 kH.
Application:
- Always use reverse osmosis water so that NO unwanted Calcium input can occur.
- Temper the initial water to 23° 25°C (73.5 - 77°F).
- Provide sufficient water circulation in the water tank with a pump.
- DO NOT use an air vent for mixing the water.
- Dissolve the appropriate amount of salt in the water. NEVER add the water to the salt.
- After dissolving, check the density of the mixed salt water.
- After the salt is completely dissolved, the water can be used immediately.
A "pre-ageing", as sometimes recommended with other salts, is not necessary.
- We recommend a salinity of 33-34 %o or a density of 1021-1022 g/l at 25°C (77°F).
Reduction of the Ca-value:
Remove the desired amount of aquarium water from the aquarium and replace it with the same amount of freshly prepared marine water using reverse osmosis water and CoralMarine Ca Zero.
1%, or 10% water change with CoralMarine Ca Zero lowers the Calcium value by 1%, or 10% in the aquarium.
In the event of significant changes in the calcium value, smaller water changes should be carried out over several days and the change in the calcium value should be monitored.
